THE GIRL WHO JUST DONT GIVE UP

To all the people who are growing up in an unequal world which simply dies not recognize or celebrate their uniqueness....

It is not every day that an auditorium full of eminent people mostly in their 40s who have carved their own niche in society , will listen with rapt attention when a teenager is delivering a speech.
but then , AISHA CHOUDHRY is no ordinary teenager and her speech, delivered at a high profile TEDx event in Pune .

While the eighteen minute TEDx talk was an eye opener in itself, what made it even more compelling was the fact that the teenager who delivered it actually was on an oxygen tube that helped her to breathe while she took on that task. It has been her constant companion for the last few years because she has been largely dependent on after she developed a debilitating condition called PULMONARY FIBROSIS that reduced her lung function to just 20% of what it should have been .

She is an artist of remarkable talent and an individual of remarkable fortitude and wisdom.  I would like to share with our readers the videos of Aisha Chaudhary – and also the life lessons that I think each one of us can learn from this positive little individual.

1.      Happiness is a worthy life ambition

When we say ‘ambition’ we tend to think of a career, success and recognition. Certainly each one of us should strive to be as successful as possible within our chosen spheres, but the ambition of ‘merely’ attaining happiness is a very worthy one too. When you think of it, isn’t all ambition geared towards feeling happy? If you want to be rich, famous or successful, you want these things because you believe they will make you happy. So really the ultimate goal of life is happiness – or at least it should be.

2.      Optimism is always an option

Your doctor could tell you that your new born baby has less than a year to live. Or you could be told that you have to live the rest of your life with terrible disease. You could decide that things are hopeless, or you could decide that you choose to grab whatever hope is held out to you. There is always something positive in each situation. Sometimes life seems to ask me to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea. But even in the grimmest of situations, there is some hope.

3.      The power of the mind is limitless

Human beings have a tremendous ability to achieve what we set our minds on. The power of the mind can cure illness – the efficacy of placebo medications is an example of this. We have that ability within each one of us: to defeat the odds and accomplish that which seemed difficult; even impossible.

5.      You are never too young to be wise

Aisha Chaudhary is 17 but she is wise way beyond her years. She has sorted out life in ways that most older people can only hope to do. Wisdom is not about the number of years we spend on earth, but about the way in which we utilise the time we have here. And yes! There is no indignity in accepting the wisdom and insight of a person we perceive as young and inexperienced – a small child can teach us a thing or two about honesty, about embracing the joys of life, of loving unreservedly.

6.      Anyone can dare to dream

So what if you have a life threatening condition, struggle with financial difficulties or have any number of other problems. You can still dream to achieve what you desire. Just because you and I may be hamstrung with seemingly insurmountable problems, you and I don’t have to give up on our dream; give up on life!

7.      Problem or Opportunity? You choose

As Aisha Chaudhary turned to art when she was in a wheel chair and unable to participate in normal activities that kids around her took for granted, so can we transform a problem into an opportunity. It all depends upon our perspective. We could look at a broken leg as a terrible misfortune that keeps us from a normal life or we could look upon it as a wonderful opportunity to listen to music, read books and watch movies that we’ve been meaning to – things that we didn’t seem able to find time for otherwise.

8.      “Why Me” is a Futile Phrase

No matter how terribly unfortunate you think yourself to be, no matter how terrible your affliction, someone else is sure to be worse off than you.  Self pity is not only futile; it is a most unattractive quality. People who might otherwise sympathise will reconsider their compassion – surely if you’re giving yourself that much sympathy, you will not need more from others!

AISHA HAS USED A PHRASE TO DESCRIBE HER OWN JOURNEY - "SINGING IN THE LIFE BOAT". THE ART GIVES SHAPE TO THAT PHRASE. THE WAVES ARE SWELLING TO SWALLOW THE BOAT WHICH IS STILL SAILING HIGH AND AISHA (THE CAPTAIN OF THE BOAT) IS DEPICTED AS A MUSICAL NOTE. ITS GENTLE CURVES RELATE TO THE FEMININE PERSONALITY AND ALSO WITH THE CENTRAL THEME OF THE PHRASE. ALL THIS IS HAPPENING BELOW THE GENTLE ARC OF THE STAR FILLED SKY. THE STARS ARE THE PRECIOUS MOMENTS OF HAPPINESS AND SELF-DISCOVERY IN THE REIGN OF DARKNESS.

LIFE AFTER 10th

10th standard is the starting and the most crucial point in the life of a student. After 10th a student’s life goes for a big change.  It is now that he takes up subjects of his choice and puts focused efforts for better career prospects in future. This is a time when most of the students get confused too much and takes a decision which he starts to dislike later. Students often find it difficult to decide which path they should choose and go. The question which stands in front of students are:
What actually a Stream is?Which stream should I choose after 10th?     Do I need to take competitive coaching After 10th  ? Is this the right time or its little bit earlier?   Should I take state board or CBSE board or ICSE after 10th?  Is Private Schools are better or should I go for government school? Should I go for diploma or other courses or complete schooling After 10th?

Choosing a career in a particular stream or profession right at this point of time has a long lasting impact on a student's future. It is very important for any student to choose carefully from various options available to him/her in which he/she is interested. In order to achieve success, one has to select the path which they like to walk on. Good judgment and right kind of aptitude when coupled with guidance in the right direction to pick up a definite stream helps one in choosing the right career option.

So from the very beginning a student should be careful in making choice of their stream.
As soon as a student reaches 10th standard, some kind of pressure of choosing a career path linger in their mind. Because by then they are at the edge of completing their school life and it is peak time to choose ones career path than ever before.

                                             Waiting!!!!!...:)...:(....

As I cuddle up on cold nights,
restless; I memorize those kisses and fights.
Life was awesome; with you by my side,
Presently, it is full of lonely rides.
I often walk; aimlessly.
Completely dumbfounded at what I do,
My life has lost its purpose,
It's hard to believe yet true.
Sorrow-stricken me,
With eyes teary wet,
Blaming my mistakes and myself,
For I wrote my own fate.
'No one's perfect',
You used to say.
But I can hardly believe,
It ended this way.
In the pool of solitude,
I often swim,
In search of love,
In search of that 'hope-beam'.
This pool of emptiness,
It's killing me inside,
Drowning in this deadly pool,
With no one to guide.
Return to me
And take me in your lap.
I pray you my love,
I want to be awakened from this nap.
Take me away;
Away from this world of strife,
I really NEED you,
To complete my life.

Help your teen to                                     develop career!!

As the parent of a learning disabled child, you may be concerned about your child's career goals. Does your teen have an idea of what she wants to be? Does he know what training is necessary to reach his goals? Is the career goal realistic for his abilities? These are the ques that teens face who have learning disabilities.

Discovering your teen's career path is a process that begins simply by determining what he hopes to achieve in his career. Talking with your teen about her hopes and dreams for a career is a good way to begin that process.

What makes your teen tick? What does your son do when he has free time? Does your daughter enjoy any hobbies? Does your teen enjoy volunteer work?

Some other ques to get your teen thinking about the future!

1) What would I Love to do?, even if I didn't get paid for it?

2) Do I have hobbies or interests that could lead to a career?

3) What do I want to be doing 5 years from now? Ten years now? Twenty years from now?

If your child truly has no idea where to start with career exploration, now is a good time to exploring a broad range of possible careers. Assist your teen with taking Inventories, and they should help you target some areas to begin researching careers. Armed with the results of your career interest inventories.

When you have narrowed down some possible career choices, help your teen to take a good honest look whether that would help him meet his life goals.

Once your teen has identified some career possibilities, the next step is to develop short terms goals to help him get where he wants to be in life and work. What are some things your teen can do that will place her in a better position to achieve her goals?

As the parent of a young adult with a learning disability, you face the added dilemma of helping your teen find the right career based on their interest as well as their ability. While everyone faces this reality, parents of teens with disabilites may worry that their field of choice is narrowed by the disability. Despite this, it is important to remain focused on the reality that your teen may not be realistically academically preapared to enter a career feild at highest levels.

First of all Always stay with your child in  every scenario, Never leave them or let them think they are alone because at the end It's you who's going to help then comfort them and Belive in them.

I especially dedicate this article to my friend, blog partner Viswapriya..:), Since her parents are going abroad in case of work. She would be on herself for almost 2 years, I want to let her know that your parents are with you every second in your life. No matter what the situation you face because REMEMBER THIS For them you are always a child who knows nothing and needs help and that's true to last word.
Thanks :)

ALCOHOLISM AND TEENAGE

Have you ever been offered an alcoholic beverage? Or someone saying “Just have a little sip?” The majority of people have their first drink by the age of 14, and that first sip can be a long term problem in many of teenagers’ lives. Teenagers should be taking better care of their bodies considering the fact that they are still young. Alcohol has many side effects, therefore it should be avoided. If you allow underage drinking it will cause different reactions to the human body.

The brain possesses many different functions that are in control of the human body and our actions in general. Memory and coordination are one of them. For example, the brain continues to develop in a person’s early twenties and when the brain is exposed to alcohol consumption, it may alter brain growth, coordination, and memory length. Teenagers who abuse of alcohol at an early age are considered to have a high brain damage than those who are not exposed to alcohol. Under the use of alcohol, the coordination of the human body can react in different ways without making sense, alcohol clouds your brain and hinders the ability of making decisions such as remembering those around you or even the ability to walk correct. The balance and coordination of a person start losing control once you let the alcohol control you.

Furthermore, a person’s speech is another effect of underage drinking that can be altered by the use of alcohol. For example, studies have shown that alcohol increases the effects of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA in the brain which are nerves signaling chemicals that decrease regular activity in neurons. GABA causes the sluggish movements and slurred speech that often occur in alcoholics after a long period of drinking.

Lastly, teenagers have the best vision considering that they are at a young age. For example, the use of alochol when they are still young can cause long term problems with one’s vision that might result in blindness after a long period of time without receiving any help when it could have been avoided.

The effects of underage alcoholism in the human body are loss of memory and coordination, slurred speech and blurred vision which can cause other disorders concerning your health. It is not about “fitting in” or being cool, it’s about taking a good care of your human body while one is young and can. Take care of your body and it will take care of you later. If you experiment with alcohol, you can hurt someone you love including yourself, so why drink it?......

                                     Socialization in teens

Teenage is a state where independence is the key. That said, it's likely that your teen is interested in spending more of her time with her peers instead of her family. While she will still use you as her home base.

Cliches -
The days of a watchful adult telling a group of kids to "play nice" is long gone by teenage years. As friends become increasingly more important your child. It's likely that he will feel the need to fit into his middle or high school's social scene. Although you want your teen to have friends, But also on the Smarter side of things you don't want your teen to adopt unhealthy ways such as - Smoking, Drinking And crash diet etc. So talk to your teen about such cliches, and help him understand that his real friends won't ask him to do things that he thinks are wrong or ostracize him for acting as an individual.

Social media -
While you may have spent the majority of your own teen years chatting on the phone and passing notes in class. The contemporary child has a much more tech-savvy approach to socialization. Social media use is a popular way for teens to connect with their real life and online friends.

Pros-
According to a report it states that 29 percent of teens feel that social networking decreases shyness and 15% say it gives better self image.

Cons -
Posting pictures and personal information on a public site can leave your teen vulnerable
to adult predators who are online. Talk to your teen about social media safety before she posts anything

Being socialized has it pros and cons, So my advice to teenagers is that you should be more cautious about sharing yourself on a public scale. And remember this

"Being social doesn't come from how many circles are you in or how many friends you have rather than the way you carry yourself in the society and how successful you are actually defines your social significance as a person"......

SIGNS OF MATURITY IN TEENS Intellectually, teens today are exposed to and consume more information than earlier generations. In ma...
