Yesterday my cousin who's in tenth standard sent me this poem she wrote a year back. Trust me, I was shocked to read the poem the way she felt and thought to share it with you all.

I wrote this poem when I was, well, in a difficult time of my life. Something happened, I was not happy, and this poem was born. After reading this, I hope that all the parents of children and teens will pause and rethink their actions towards the kids. Do they deserve it? Have you been paying attention to what's happening to them? Take a moment and think about the effects your words will have on a child. Hearts are fragile and can easily shatter.

Is it wrong to ask for appreciation?
Is it sinful to want to be
Loved?
Don't I deserve the same respect,
Love,appreciation as anyone else?
Why are you treating me this way?
What have I done to you?
You only see the appearance of a happy me
Not the silent tears cried on moonless nights
You only see the lazy and dumb me
Not the one who sits working burning the midnight oil
Happy,carefree,lazy,inconsiderate
Those are FAKE !
Sad,lonely,excluded,pain
Are for REAL!
Behind a mask no one can see
What is really happening to me
Tears falling like a waterfall
Forging ahead till point of utter exhaustion
Giving up my good childhood times
For what? For whom ?
For you.
Yet you don't care , not a bit
But I can't stop
Coz I'm here to fool everyone
For keeping up the image and reputation
And the moon and the stars.
Why do you abandon me in time of stress?
I'm just as tired as everyone
I worked hard
I became independent
Yet you complain
You suck
I trust you
I step away
I rely on you
And the world falls apart
I ask you why? What should we do ?
You yell,Go away!you Brat!
And all things are not nice
In this world of loneliness
What should a TEEN DO..??
Parents don't care,too busy they say
What should I do ???
